against the aft wall, and a navigation/ radio desk is to port. For the convenience of guests, Bill has a laptop on a small table at the settee that displays the electronic charts in use at the helm station.

The only unusual device at the helm is a lever that controls the setting of the variable-pitch propeller.

There's a hatch in the deck just aft of the helm seat. It opens into the galley and must be convenient for passing lunch orders below. Remember, though, that the stairway is gone.

Ocean Quest has a Portuguese bridge that wraps around face of the pilothouse. It offers a spectacular view, and it's where I stood to watch John scurry up the ratlines to the crow's nest with my Nikon slung around his neck.

I have been aboard two 65 Romsdals (Sea Quest and Viking Fjord) in addition to Ocean Quest, and all three share the good and the bad, as viewed from the pilothouse.
